Our Programs & Partnerships

Living Well Clinic

Greater Life Community Center’s Living Well Clinic provides the highest-quality health care at no cost. Our licensed medical team and mental health professionals offer confidential services for the entire family. Visit the Living Well Center’s walk-in health clinic and begin living a healthier lifestyle. 

Community Care-A-Van

Froedtert Hospital Care-A-Van performs weekly health screenings by RN’s and associated physicians in collaboration with Froedtert Hospital, the Milwaukee Bucks and GGCDC.

UW Milwaukee School of Nursing

UW-Milwaukee School of Nursing partners with the  Greater Life Community Center to engage students in active participation in community programming.

Living Well

A program that focuses on learning how to manage emotions and apply coping skills as part of the healing process for trauma induced by loneliness, social isolation, emotional or physical abuse and other social challenges.

COME ALIVE Milwaukee

The COMmunity Empowerment and Lifestyle Intervention for Ethnic Minorities in Milwaukee (COME ALIVE Milwaukee) led by the CAPS program at the Medical College of Wisconsin, was launched at the Greater Life Community Center. The program’s goal is to address health disparities across Milwaukee.

Memory Cafe

In partnership with the Alheimer’s Association, Milwaukee County and others, the Memory Cafe provides opportunities for persons with mild to moderate-stage Alzheimer’s or related Dementia, along with their care partners, to socialize and have fun in a safe place and welcoming community.

Aging Advocacy

Feeding America in collaboration with GGCDC has provided groceries and lunches for seniors. The last two years, 1700 boxes of groceries were distributed monthly to over 180 senior families.

The Greater Community Life Center builds connections across age, race, socio-economic classes and other traditional divides.

The Dance Studio is used by various groups for fitness programs, Above the Clouds ballet classes, and more.

Donate

The GGCDC Greater Life Community Center is located in Lindsay Heights, one of the most poverty-stricken areas of in Wisconsin (53206). At least 50% of the residents live below the poverty level and 98% are minorities.

The vision of the center is to serve as a hub of innovative programming and activities, taking into consideration individual differences in age, health, functional ability, lifestyle, ethnicity, religious beliefs, values, needs, social interests and skills.

Partnerships with the Hunger Task Force and Feeding America allows provisions for hot meals and fresh produce to approximately 2,000 seniors a month. Since 1980, the GGCDC has provided weekly hot meals to families. Learn more about all of our programs.
